Reading Assignment #11

For this reflection, I read About the Authors by Katie Ray

This whole chapter gave a snap shot of how a Writing Workshop can be accomplished successfully.  For the workshop to work, students need to know that they can write, no matter what's on the paper.  Do not let students feel uncomfortable because they can only draw pictures, this is still a form of writing.  I can use this in my future classroom because students need to know that writing is important and anyone can do it.

  1. Yes! Anyone can do it! That's a great take-away. Continue to reflect on how you will incorporate this kind of philosophy into your classroom. Think about how you will encourage students to "take risks" as writers. Also, connect to what you did in school as a writer and learn from those experiences.
